n 1970, Mattie Henry, together with his parents and brother Tommie, emigrated to the United States to join his other brother, Noel Henry. The three brothers formed the Noel Henry Irish Showband and spent the next twenty-odd years touring and performing across the country at dances, weddings and concerts, making a name for themselves as a premier dance band.

In 1991, Mattie made his first journey to Medjugorje, traveling with Noel, and a few brave pilgrims to this little-known spot in war-torn Yugoslavia. What he found was an Oasis of Peace that he has carried in his heart ever since. As time went on left the band and moved on to other things, gradually building a reputation of his own with his rich baritone voice, which lends itself perfectly to what Mattie Henry is all about today: a man who spreads the Word of God through music.
